A pet's grooming exists in many forms. The most basic from of grooming keeps the pet healthy and comfortable, and maintains its overall well-being. Grooming is often taken for granted, and when not done properly, a pet may run into a host of health issues such as skin irritation, ear infections etc.
Some basic grooming can be done at home, while some are better done by the professionals. Either way, introducing grooming the right way, as a neutral and necessary activity will benefit the pet in the long run. Creating a low-stress environment while grooming at home is essential, and will constitute part of what a pet experience in grooming.
To achieve these, while being proficient and comfortable in basic grooming is required, understanding pet's behaviour and approaching it with positivity and technique is crucial.

More than just grooming techniques and tools, our approach shapes our pets' relationship with grooming. In this session, learn behaviour-led strategies to prevent and reduce fear, anxiety and stress in grooming situations such as nails clipping, ears cleaning, underpaw fur trim.

An award-winning groomer with over a decade of experience, Desmond’s passion lies in driving a collective change for an empathy-led, welfare-centered approach towards grooming care through education. Fuelled by optimism, compassion and the desire to learn, he constantly seeks evidence-based knowledge beyond the grooming table that supports the prevention and alleviation of grooming traumas faced by both pets and their caregivers.
From non-profits, educational institutions to corporations, Desmond finds joy in sharing his expertise to help pet guardians and their furry companions thrive with grooming situations.

* Cancellations or changes to your attendance need to be made at least 7 days before the event, for a refund to be made possible. Proceeds not refunded will be made out to a pet shelter of the organizers' choice.
